Cornwall Seal Group members have been studying Grey Seals since 2000 and have made some interesting and unexpected discoveries about the seals visiting our shores.

The trials and tribulations of Cornwall's Grey Seal Pups.


Whilst Grey Seal Pups are superbly adapted to life in the sea, with mortality rates of between 30 - 50%, their first few months are very tough, as they learn to fend for themselves. Get close up and personal with local pups to witness their trials and tribulations.

Rescuing Cornwall's Grey Seal Pups.


Part of British Divers Marine Life Rescue's Marine Mammal Medic Course.

A key aspect of Cornwall Seal Group's work is collaborating with British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) to help Seal Pups in trouble around our shores. Complex factors interact to make up a rescue decision and best practice protocols need to be followed.
