Seals at the Sun, Sea and Surf Festival

Wednesday was the fifteenth bimonthly meeting of the Cornwall Seal Group. Our agenda was wide ranging & included:-

• The St Ives Bay Code of Conduct
• Disturbance incidents
• The Sun, Sea and Surf Festival
• Records, reports and research
• Seal haul outs, sightings and IDs
• Feedback from related organisations

The Cornwall Seal Group joined British Divers Marine Life Rescue and The Cornwall Wildlife Trust to provide information to the public about the amazing sights of nature around us in Cornwall, at the National Trust's Sun, Sea and Surf Festival at Godrevy over the weekend. This was an excellent opportunity to raise some much needed funds for the benefit of wild seals. Visitors could buy furry seals, postcards and greetings cards or try their luck in our raffle or 'name our seal' competition. Huge thanks to all the Seal Group and BDMLR members who helped out at this event.
