Quick release : 3 more seals are returned to the wild

High tide at Gwithian on Wednesday saw three more seals successfully released back into the wild. Staff from the National Seal Sanctuary have worked very hard to rehabilitate these young seals just to make this day possible. A small group of onlookers gathered to say 'goodbye' and 'good luck' to these beautiful creatures. As soon as they arrived, Brant (rescued 21/01/05 from Porthgwarra), Lune (rescued 23/01/05 from Gwithian) and Teign (rescued 03/01/05 from Porthcurno) were keen to look at their surroundings from their trailer. None of the seals hung about once the ramp was open and all of them may a 'b' line for the sea. It only took a few minutes for the 3 seals to be reunited offshore before they all headed out to sea. Visitors to the area are asked to keep a look out for these yellow 'hatties' and report all sightings to the National Seal Sanctuary on 01326 221361.
