Letter from a friend

Dear Sue and Rescue Team

We were walking across the beach and we saw a dolphin very far up on the beach. I felt sad because I know that the dolphins come on to land when they are going to die. I wanted to help so I ran to get water to pour on the dolphin. The rescue team decided to take the dolphin into shallow water, they let him go but he kept coming back. I helped carry a stretcher for the dolphin to lie on so they could take him out again. He just kept coming back, the rescue team had no other choice but to put him down. I felt really, really sad.

They had to put the dolphin down because if they had left him on the beach he would die in pain but this way he could die in peace. Everyone moved away when the dolphin was put down to give him some peace.
